With my experience in the veterinary care industry, I decided to expand into Hydrotherapy for dogs to improve their quality of life through developing strength/fitness & conditioning programs as well as rehabilitation post-surgery.
The animals I have had over the last 40 years have assisted in developing my dog handling skills and reinforced the importance of rehabilitation and conditioning.
My first dog, a corgi cross (Trixie) lived for 23 years. Imagine how her quality of life would have been different if rehabilitation and hydrotherapy would have been around then. As well as Trixie I had a wide variety of small and large dog breeds, such as German Shepherds, Rottweiler X, Golden Retriever, Terrier x, Border Collies and I currently have a Koolie (Chai), as well as a menagerie of cats, birds, reptiles, guinea pigs and rabbits.
In 2010, I began working with sporting dogs which has given me a passion for rehabilitation. 3 of my dogs have competed in Flyball with my Border Collie (Boston), Rottweiler (Rusty) and Koolie (Chai).
I have over 25 years experience in the veterinary nursing, emergency animal care and rehabilitation industries in Australia and Thailand. I am a member of accreditation bodies and associations and participates in ongoing continual professional development.
